The need

Role: QA Engineer Intern - Engine Reliability & Bug Fixing. Location: Paris & San Francisco, Remote / Hybrid. Contract: 2-month freelance mission with path to full-time Founding Engineer. About Arcade: Arcade is building the future of game development: instant, accessible, and magical. Its mission is to let anyone create and publish a game in seconds, with no code and no blockers. Arcade is creating a platform where game creation feels like play, where ideas become playable worlds instantly, and where AI, real-time engines, and agentic workflows make creative game building available to billions of new creators. The team is small, fast-moving, AI-native, and backed by leading minds in gaming and tech. What you'll do: This person joins a high-intensity 2-month sprint to make Arcade's game generation engine bulletproof. This is not traditional QA: the role tests, breaks, debugs, and stabilizes a complex system that turns prompts into fully playable 3D games, working directly with AI engineers and 3D systems. They will design aggressive testing strategies across the LLM to DSL to 3D engine pipeline; identify, reproduce, debug, and fix issues directly in the codebase; build automated test suites, validation pipelines, and regression systems; validate LLM outputs from Claude and Gemini for consistency, determinism, and correctness; stress-test multi-agent workflows; collaborate with AI and 3D engineers to diagnose and ship fixes quickly; and improve product quality while keeping speed high. What we're looking for: Arcade is looking for someone with a strong QA or engineering track record owning product reliability. The person can read and fix JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python; is obsessed with edge cases and breaking systems; has experience testing APIs, AI systems, game engines, or distributed systems; is comfortable with non-deterministic AI outputs; knows unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; moves fast under pressure; uses an AI-augmented technical workflow; and is perfectly fluent in written and spoken English. What Arcade offers: A competitive freelance rate for the initial 2-month contract, a path to full-time Founding Engineer with founding team equity, a high-impact role in building a game creation system, extreme ownership, and work with a fast AI-native team.
