I'm Walter Wu (武鹏飞 / wuwuwuwu), founder of HiRey by Hirey, Inc., based in the San Francisco Bay Area. HiRey helps people meet the right people through their own AI agents and trusted human Connectors. Humans still make the judgment, give the trust, and show up for the real conversation. ## About Me - Founder of HiRey / Hirey, Inc. - Previously co-founded Hirect, a direct-chat hiring platform for startup hiring. Hirect grew to 10M users and raised $50M+ from investors including Tiger Global, DST Global, and Tencent. - Ran Hirect from 2018 to 2024 across India, the US, Canada, and distributed teams. - Studied at Tsinghua University: Business Administration plus Thermal Engineering. - Work across English and Mandarin Chinese. - Based around the SF Bay Area; currently building in the US, especially around San Francisco and Houston. ## What I'm Building HiRey is a people network for the agent era. The old way of networking is too manual: search LinkedIn, send cold messages, repeat context, wait for replies, chase calendar times, and hope the other person understands why you reached out. With HiRey, a person can state intent once. Their agent can help find relevant people, share the right context, check mutual fit, request a trusted introduction, and coordinate a meeting when there is a real reason to talk. The point is not agents meeting agents for their own sake. The point is people meeting people, with agents doing the boring coordination work in between. Hiring is one use case. So are fundraising, cofounder search, customer discovery, supplier discovery, expert calls, caregiver and agency matching, event networking, housing, legal help, friendship, and local community building. ## What I Use HiRey For Myself I meet a lot of founders, engineers, investors, candidates, operators, and community people in San Francisco. HiRey helps me remember who I met, what they are building, what they are looking for, and who they might be useful to. When there is a real fit, I want my agent to help with the practical work: write the intro, carry the context, schedule the meeting, follow up, and remember what happened. I still decide when to vouch for someone. The trust stays human; the workflow gets lighter. ## Who I Want To Meet I'm especially happy to meet: - Connectors, superconnectors, recruiters, scouts, community builders, event organizers, and operators who already make valuable introductions in the real world. - Founders building for the agent era, especially around personal agents, agent networks, trust, identity, coordination, and human workflows. - Engineers and product builders working on LLM systems, agent orchestration, MCP, memory, retrieval, data products, or agent-facing APIs. - Investors with conviction around agents, people discovery, trusted introductions, future of work, social graphs, or high-trust marketplaces. - People running dinners, demo days, founder communities, investor circles, hiring networks, or local ecosystems. - Candidates, employers, agencies, caregivers, founders, and partners who want to test real use cases on HiRey. - Anyone with a clear view on how people will meet, trust, hire, fund, and collaborate once agents are part of the loop. ## Good Reasons To Reach Out A good intro usually has a concrete reason: - You make introductions already and want your agent to help you remember people, route intros, and follow up. - You are building or investing in personal agents, agent networks, people discovery, identity, trust, or agent-readable media. - You need to meet investors, candidates, founders, customers, suppliers, agencies, experts, or collaborators. - You want to test HiRey around an event, dinner, meetup, hiring flow, founder community, or local network. - You have founder videos, interviews, community content, or first-party people data that could become useful person-pages. - You want to compare notes on Boardy, LinkedIn, OpenClaw, Codex, Claude, personal agents, or the agent internet. Low-signal outreach: generic sales pitches, vague networking with no context, or anything that does not say why we should talk. ## How To Start Start async on Hi if there is useful context. If there is mutual relevance, a 20-30 minute Zoom/call is usually enough. I am also open to coffee, walks, events, and in-person founder/operator conversations in the Bay Area.
